The two instagram accounts I compare is Miley Cyrus’ and Liza Koshy. Their instagram accounts both focus on the image but one more than the other. Miley Cyrus is very expressive and I don’t think she really cares how people see her, she has always been known to be crazy and be herself. Her posts are very unapologetic and real to who she is as a person. Some elements in her account are very different from Liza’s. Miley often posts provacative pictures and show her body off a lot more. Liza on the other hand has a very modest and PG-13 kind of vibe going on with her instagram. Her instagram is one you could show off and appreciate. Both accounts show off a lot of places and outfits and I feel like it represents them well.
You can build ethos through your own social media account by posting something that really shows off your personality and shows your true inner being. It’s hard to be authentic in a place full of judgement, but somehow people still pull it off. You have to find a way to express yourself in the truest form and this one of the many ways to really connect to people who see your account. They just want to see the real you. I relate to the Modern Love essay because I have sometimes just post to show off. I know its not ethical or right but the validation is what makes it feel worth it. I relate to the girl because she just wanted to be seen in the best way possible even if it means faking it till you make it. I feel like social media has transformed everyone’s mindset to this. Social media has become a primary source to find love or relationships in general. If you find someone new, most likely their first question is “What’s your instagram?” This is a way to find your image and see what you are before they even meet you. I do this sometimes too. I judge based off of what I see on social media and how they represent themselves and what type of image they give off. But then again social media can be a good thing if you use it right. It’s definitely has had its positives and negatives in my relationships but I find a way to make it work and make it more positive.
